More Invitation Booklets – Ryan Masuga

I can’t believe I forgot about this invite in yesterday’s post about invitation booklets!  Erica and EAD posted about these invitations a year ago, which I instantly filed in my inspiration folder.  This amazing hardcover invitation booklet was created by graphic designer Ryan Masuga for his own wedding in 2003:

A detail of the letterpress invitation cover:

Inside the invitation, guests found a bit of background about Ryan and his fiance, as well as the actual invitation, hotel information, RSVP card, and fold-out map with directions (tied to the booklet with a piece of twine):

On his website, Ryan says that the response to the invitations was tremendous – people even sent in e-mail rsvps and got directions online to avoid removing the rsvp or map enclosures from the invitation!  Ryan also created a slideshow of the entire invitation, which you can find right here.

Wedding Invitation Idea – Books!

One of my favorite invitations from the last couple of weeks came from this wedding over on Once Wed.  I was particularly taken with the letterpress invitation booklet that the couple created:

From the bride, Sara: The inside included the formal invitation, a hand drawn map and a postcard for the response card. Out of town guests had an additional perforated piece with travel information on half, and a response card for the rehearsal dinner. We assembled the whole thing by hand, sewing each book up with some string.

I also love how the couple carried the faux bois graphic from their invitation booklet into other elements of the wedding:

For even more invitation booklet goodness, Christine posted a link to these jaw-dropping and absolutely stunning wedding invitation books (an honest-to-goodness bound book!):

There’s more (including DIY instructions if you’re not afraid to get your hands reeeaaallly messy) over at Merriment Design.  I love the idea of a wedding invitation booklet (or actual book if you’re so inclined) – these would make wonderful keepsakes for family and friends, particularly for a more intimate wedding.  Anyone else thinking about doing something similar for their own wedding?

Wedding Invitations — Mr. Boddington’s Studio

You’ve probably already seen the work of Mr. Boddington’s Studio featured in Martha Stewart Weddings and elsewhere – but their work is just so classically chic that I couldn’t help but feature it here.  These are a few of my favorites from the wedding and Save the Date portfolio:

Wedding Invitations — Hammerpress

With the holidays now behind us, it feels like a good time to start focusing on wedding invitations again.  I’ve had Hammerpress bookmarked for a long, long time, and I couldn’t resist sharing a few of my favorites from their custom letterpress wedding invitations portfolio:

I love Hammerpress’s use of pattern details, from maps to damask, to help the personality of each couple shine through in the invitation.  And as each invitation suite is entirely custom, Hammerpress would be a great option for any couple looking, as Hammerpress says on their website, “for something a bit out of the ordinary for your wedding day.”

Wedding Paper Divas Contest – Winner!

Congratulations to Myisha – the winner of a $100 gift certificate to Wedding Paper Divas!  Here's what Myisha said:

The Delightful Dahlias would be choice. The invites remind me of a warm spring/ summer soiree. The color is lively but not overly bright. Perfect for a small quaint backyard wedding that I want to plan.

Myisha chose the Delightful Dahlias invitation as her favorite design:

Here are some of the other beautiful designs you chose:

Big thanks  to everyone who participated in the contest, and to Wedding Paper Divas for sponsoring the giveaway!
