Postal Press + Clover & Bee

Good morning everyone!  Can you believe it's already the last day of August?  But even as summer is ending, there are a few new ventures just getting started.  First, Alyson's Postal Press is finally live!  The shop is stocked full of wonderful note cards, journals and other letterpress goodies:

Next up, Rebecca from Oh So RB just launched Clover & Bee, a wedding website dedicated entirely to Midwest weddings.  If you're a bride planning a wedding anywhere from North Dakota to Kansas to Michigan to Ohio — Clover & Bee is the perfect resource for you:

Heather + Josh’s Botanical Wedding Stationery

Today over at EAD I’m posting about Heather and Josh’s lilac-inspired wedding, and I’ve got a few additional photos of their paper ephemera to share with you!

Heather and Josh were married at the totally awesome venue of a botanical garden, and I love the way they incorporated floral and botanical themes throughout the wedding – from the lilacs in the bouquet and centerpieces to the queen anne’s lace and dandelions used in the wedding paper ephemera:

Heather DIY’d most of the paper elements throughout her wedding, from a recipe book as favors to a Quaker marriage certificate!

From Heather:  We did a recipe book of family recipes as the favor, which I designed and printed along with the ceremony programs.

Our placecards were on plantable paper that we stamped using a rubber stamp from Paper Source and then hand wrote the names and table information.

We did a quaker marriage certificate as a guest book that my Mom hand painted and I designed in Photoshop and had printed on canvas.

I also love the queen anne’s lace details in Heather’s Save the Dates and invitation:

Heather was inspired in part by the lilacs that I used in my wedding last year – and I’m so happy that she (and her fab wedding photographers, Lindsey and April from Sweet Monday Photography) sent over the photos from her wedding to show how she incorporated the lilac and botanical themes in her own way.  You can see more photos from Heather + Josh’s lilac-inspired wedding right here and over at EAD.

Circus-Inspired Baby Announcements

Rachelle from Wiley Valentine recently sent over these custom baby announcements inspired by a popcorn bag from Trader Joe's — and not only are they ridiculously adorable, but I love how they show that great design can be inspired from even the most ordinary of objects.

Here's the original popcorn bag design inspiration:

I absolutely adore the pink stripes and circus-inspired details.  The ladies at Wiley Valentine liked the result so much, they've added it to their permanent portfolio — available for both baby announcements and wedding invitations.  This design reminds me of Adam and Hallie's carnival-inspired wedding, don't you think?

Wedding Invitations — Brown Sugar Design

I’ve been a huge fan of Brown Sugar Design since I came across their portfolio while researching for my own wedding last year.  Husband and wife design team Whitney and Jonathan create beautiful (and completely custom) wedding invitations, using just about every printing method possible.

Whitney and Jonathan were kind enough to send over a few photos from their portfolio, so let’s get right to it:

This invitation, which incorporates a vintage map as a key design element, is one of my favorites from the Brown Sugar Design portfolio:

I’ve got one more invitation suite from Brown Sugar Design to share with you a bit later today.  In the meantime, you can check out more from the Brown Sugar Design portfolio right here.

Happy Weekend!

Between the NYIGF and Brides.com field trip, it's been an incredibly full week — and I'm looking forward to a weekend filled with a trip to IKEA, the farmer's market, and getting a few gorgeous real invitations ready to share with you over the next couple of weeks! But in the meantime…
