NYIGF Recap, PartÂ 4

One of the largest booths in the upstairs handmade section of the NYIGF was the booth of stationery representative daisyd and friends, which included a collection of stationery and paper goods from Night Owl Paper Goods, Dutch Door Press, Hammerpress, Modern Printed Matter, Ink + Paper, Round Robin Press, and many more:

Also in the upstairs handmade section was the booth featuring letterpress cards and prints from Yee-Haw Industries:

I also came across this beautiful laser-cut wood and steel jewelry by Daphne Olive:

I also spent some time in the downstairs section of the NYIGF, which featured handmade goods from international vendors. It was in this section that I discovered these amazing textiles from Indika Imports:

{these Tree of Life wall hangings use one continuous piece of fabric – they remind me of paper cut artwork}

{I also loved these fabric bird garlands – called prosperity hens – hanging around the booth}

In addition to beautiful textiles, Indika also carries a lovely selection of Indian paper goods:

I just couldn't stop staring at all of the lovely patterns and colors – so gorgeous! You can find all of these and more right here.

NYIGF Recap, PartÂ 3

I'm back again with more from the NYIGF! This time, I'm starting off with the bright and colorful Motel Deluxe booth, which also included a few letterpress cards and coasters from Sesame Letterpress:

I also stopped by the Letterspace booth for a sneak peek at their new 2010 calendar:

Ige had this wonderful collection of silhouette mobiles and fabric calendars on display in their booth:

Ige also has a fantastic monkey mobile that I didn't manage to photograph – but you can check out the full collection online right here.

One of my favorite things about these shows is getting to meet new designers and artists – like Toronto-based illustrator and printmaker Katie Muth!

As you can see above, Katie also has a 2010 calendar - which I can't wait to include in my calendar round-ups a bit later on in September!

Embroidered Fabric Calendar

I'm not planning to do full calendar round-ups until later in September, but I came across this beautiful fabric calendar on Avie Designs and just couldn't resist posting just this one a bit early:

The calendars are pre-printed on cotton panels – the idea is that you embellish the cotton fabric with embroidery, fabric, or screen printing before giving it to someone else (or I suppose keeping it for yourself). Such a sweet idea!

The calendar panels are available for purchase from September House, which also offers a number of embroidery patterns that can be used along the edges of the calendar. Check them all out right here.

NSS – Booth round-up, part six

So for those of you still reading blogs on this lovely holiday Monday, I figured I'd put up my last two NSS booth round-up posts for you!

First up, Binth, whose booth was full of gorgeous cards and art prints:

I love this handcrafted baby book…

.and this deck of completely redesigned playing cards! I particularly love the redesigned face cards (like the jack, queen and king) for each suit, and the way the odd number cards are redesigned to fit together in a more organic way, like the seven of hearts below:

Another favorite booth was from Pikku, whose colorful + patterned textiles and paper goods just made me smile:

{these eco-friendly letterpress calendars adhere to screen-printed birchwood planks – once the year is over, you can either hand the birchwood as artwork or order a refill with next year's dates!}

NSS – Booth round-up, part three

The Linda + Harriett booth was one that I had really been looking forward to visiting before the NSS – and it definitely did not disappoint! I love Liz's use of color and pattern, from the new greetings cards to the upcoming 2010 calendar:

The Hello!Lucky booth was truly a work of art – the ladies over at Hello!Lucky drew all the display signs onto the linen backdrop by hand!

Sabrina was also kind enough to give us a peek into the designs from the Hello!Lucky wedding album – each design is available in either letterpress or digital printing:
