Kristina + Brock’s Modern Black and White Wedding Invitations

These invitations from Kristina at Lovely Morning are just beautiful – the ribbon, the honeycomb pattern, the blind impression, the calligraphy, it all just works so well together…

Invitations designed by Kristina and printed by Aardvark Press – with gorgeous calligraphy by Jenna Hein.  I love the contrast of the white calligraphy on black envelopes!  You can follow the entire process here, here, and here.

Sycamore Street Press – Great Job On That Thing You Did

I love these cards from Etsy seller Sycamore Street Press (Update: Sycamore Street Press now has a new website! Click here for their new and improved online store.)

This phrase is now used regularly by both my husband and I at our house — he’ll do the dishes and I’ll congratulate him on a great job on that thing he did. Hopefully I’ll soon find a way to slip him one of these in person.

A few other greeting cards from Sycamore Street Press:

In addition to greeting cards, Sycamore Street Press offers these ridiculously cute gift tags:

These beautiful letterpress place cards:

And these lovely letterpress posters and photo mat frames:

The posters make great presents – I bought one for my 3 year-old neice a few weeks back, and if I had the wall space would want another one for myself!

All images above via the Sycamore Street Press etsy store, but you should also check out their blog as well, which features some of their fun custom projects, including wedding menus, table name signs, and thank-you cards:

Wedding Invitations — Bird and Banner

Bird and Banner consistently produces some of the most amazing wedding invitation designs.  I love their use of non-traditional materials, particularly cloth and wood, in pulling together an invitation suite.  If I hadn’t already been set on a fold-out invitation design, I think I would have very easily switched directions and gone with a design inspired by the stitched invitations below:

{Cape Cod Wedding}

A few more favorites from the Bird and Banner collection:

{a garden wedding in Philadelphia}

{a wedding in the woods}

{family farm}

{modern monogram}

I love the hand lettering and interesting typography on these next invitations:

{notebook doodle}

{country cookout}

So many more over on the Bird and Banner website.  Swoon…

2009 Calendar Round-Up

I love, love, love calendars. Last year, calendars were my main holiday present for office colleagues, and I think I ended up with no less than 4 different calendars just for myself.

My favorite calendar from last year was this letterpressed and screenprinted calendar from ilee:

Trust me when I say that these pictures don’t do this calendar anything close to justice — they’re really just beautiful in person. The new 2009 edition will be available in late September, and I can’t wait to order mine!

Several of these were gifted to colleagues and family:

letterpress calendar from jhiner1978

offset calendar from happify

offset calendar from creative thursday

Other amazing calendars available include:

This very cool (even if it isn’t, strictly speaking, paper) wood calendar from night owl paper goods

This slightly spooky letterpress calendar from lizard press

This fun and vintage-inspired letterpress calendar from YeeHaw

This eco-chic calendar by artist Cat Seto via See Jane Work

This truly lovely four seasons letterpress calendar from elum designs

Many of the 2009 calendars aren’t yet available, so I’ll continue to feature some of my favorites as they get released over the next few weeks.
