Lilacs + Anemones

By now, you might have figured out my love for lilacs.  They were the main flower of my bouquet in my wedding last year, and also featured prominently in our centerpieces:

This past weekend my husband and I took a trip down to Mount Vernon, where the lilacs were in full bloom and just absolutely resplendent.  And while I love the lilac + sweet pea combination that I chose for my wedding, I also love this lilac + anemone bouquet from Artfool in the latest issue of Martha Stewart Weddings:

While the lilacs are blooming down at Mount Vernon, they haven’t yet made their way to our local farmer’s market (where I collect my flowers for the week), so this week I had to content myself with a small bouquet of red and purple anemones.  But hopefully I’ll see lilacs next week.  I can’t wait!

New Posters – Lizzy House

You may remember Lizzy House from this post back in February, when I fell in love with Lizzy's poster of Shakespeare's 12th sonnet.  Well, Lizzy is back, both with a 2nd edition of the 12th sonnet poster and a brand new (and very cool) poster with Shakespeare's 59th sonnet:

You can find both this new poser and the 2nd edition of Shakespeare's 12th sonnet in Lizzy's etsy store right here – but head on over soon, since they're likely to sell out quickly if the 1st edition is any indication!

Satsuma Press Wedding Line!

You guys, I am so excited – the Satsuma Press Wedding Line is finally here!  The website officially went live over the weekend, featuring Lynn’s gorgeous invitations as photographed by Max Wanger.  The wedding line features eleven lovely designs in twenty lush colors, all letterpress printed on 100% cotton paper:

The designs were inspired by vintage botanical drawings, organic shapes and jewel-toned hues.  Lynn included the following statement on her blog post announcing the wedding line, which I think perfectly represents the new collection:

I fancy good, simple design that is pleasing to the eye and mind; refreshing color and lush paper; plenty of open space and quiet, graceful beauty. I believe in fine craftsmanship. I believe that finding joy in the work you do is essential. I believe that letterpress printing is a thing of beauty.

I hope you’ll all spend some time today browsing through the new designs.  And congratulations to Lynn on the launch of the collection!
