Satsuma Press Mailbox Monthly

I've found letterpress subscriptions to be one of the best ways of satisfying my stationery addiction, so you can imagine how excited I was to see that Lynn from Satsuma Press is starting her own letterpress subscription called Mailbox Monthly!  The subscriptions will include a mix of stationery, prints and off cuts — and considering the incredible beauty of Lynn's existing work, I can't wait to see what surprises arrive in the mail every month!

Mailbox Monthly is available in 3, 6, and 12 month subscriptions.  The subscriptions won't begin until January 2010 (and would make such a fab holiday present), but you can pre-order yours now – just head on over to the Satsuma Press etsy or big cartel shops for the 6-month subscription listing (and to check out Lynn's amazing stationery sale!), or e-mail Lynn to order a 3-month or 12-month subscription.  I can't wait!

Sweet Baby Blue Baby Announcements

Rachelle from Wiley Valentine sent over these sweet little birth announcements that she recently designed for photographer Braedon Flynn – I'm warning you now to brace yourself for some serious cuteness:

The typography details on the envelope and sweet blue ribbon are beautiful additional touches to an already lovely birth announcement — and I guess having such an adorable subject doesn't exactly hurt either.  Thanks so much Rachelle!

Elephantine

I have a total weakness for small and delicate jewelry.  I recently added a necklace from elephantine to my collection at home (this one, in case you’re curious), but I’m already thinking about going back for one of these lovelies:

So so pretty.  You can check out the full collection right here.

Happy Weekend!

Hi everyone!  Are you all ready for the weekend?  I most definitely am!  I'm currently up in New York City for a few days on a work trip and my husband and I will be spending the weekend traipsing around the city and Brooklyn.  If you have any recommendations of cool things to do, particularly in Brooklyn, let me know!  In the meantime…

…here are a few things making me happy right now:

  • These paintings that Katy found are so lovely
  • Kate Headley is offering a photography workshop for photographers and bloggers!  Check out the details right here. So exciting!

That's it for me this week — I'll see you all back here on Monday.  Oh, and just a reminder to any designers out there — I'm starting to work on my 2010 calendar round-up, so don't forget to send me your calendars if you'd like them to be included!  Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

{terrible yellow eyes}

Like almost everyone else on the planet, Where the Wild Things Are is one of my favorite childhood books, so I was thrilled to come across a collection of illustrations inspired by the world's most lovable monsters over on freshly blended.  Terrible Yellow Eyes is a collection of works celebrating the beloved classic curated by Cory Godbey — and the results are stunning:

There's some truly amazing work over at the Terrible Yellow Eyes project, and I'm literally swooning over these a-m-a-z-i-n-g papercut pieces by Alberto Cerriteño:
