Brides.com Wedding Blogger NYC Field Trip

If you follow me on twitter, then you already know that on Tuesday I was fortunate enough to join some of my favorite wedding bloggers — Vané, Anne-Marie, Courtney, Maria, Anne, Jillian, and Bee — on a tour organized by Brides.com of some of New York’s most famous wedding institutions, including Reem Acra‘s showroom, Colin Cowie’s office, The Plaza Hotel, Cartier, and Ron Ben-Israel’s studio and kitchen.

The day was a complete blast — from starting out the day with the beautiful detailing on Reem Acra’s gorgeous wedding gowns (and a few of the celebrity gowns as well) to an amazing lunch and dessert at The Plaza and a closer look at Cartier’s jewelry and stationery.

I know most people think of sparkly diamonds when they think of Cartier, but Cartier actually has its own line of classic engraved wedding invitations:

Coming up next, my favorite stop of the day – Ron Ben-Israel!  For more detail on each of our stops during the day, you can also check out the Brides.com blog, Wedded Bits, right here.

Treehouse Wedding Invitations

These invitations, created by Hello!Lucky designer Anna for bride and groom Hollin and Eric, just seem to possess an abundance of happiness and good cheer:

Hello!Lucky3
In addition to the fabulous illustrations — I adore the bride and groom dancing under the tree tops — I also really like the way the designer navigated the somewhat tricky aspect of where to place the names of divorced and re-married parents on the invitation.  In this case, the names of each set of parents was placed side-by-side in a banner illustration, followed by the full names of the bride and groom below.  Just lovely.

{pink + green wedding invitations}

Cathie recently sent over these sweet pink and green wedding invitations that she designed and printed for friends that she's known since elementary school.  The bride wanted a green and pink color palette for the invitations – so Cathie developed this sweet bird-theme invitation design:

In addition to the invitations, Cathie also designed the ceremony programs and candy favor labels:
