Little Man Bow Tie-Inspired Baby Shower Invitations

Baby shower invitations and birthday party invitations are such a wonderful opportunity to let loose and have some creative fun, from design to packaging.  Melissa and Amy from Atheneum Creative created these adorable invitations for a “Little Man” theme baby shower, incorporating mini bow ties into each invitation along with a few playful details for the day of the shower.  So cute!

From Melissa + Amy: We were asked to create the invitations for a ‘Little Man’ theme baby shower.  Whenever possible, we love to bring a level of interaction to any invitation – and what better way to do that than ask each guest don a bow tie for the party?

Each invitation contained a bow tie in a different pattern and was packaged in a box with wood chips and a custom label.

We also created day of signage: a welcome sign reminding everyone to don their bow tie, a well wishes form/sign for the little man, food signs, and favors. For the day-of materials, we kept to the theme of little man by adding in some fun mustaches.

Gavin’s Camping-Inspired Birthday Party Invitations

It feels like just yesterday that Ashley of Lemon and Lavender sent over the bicycle-inspired first birthday party invitations for her son Gavin – and today I have the pleasure of featuring Gavin’s third birthday party invitations!  Ashley decided to have a camp-inspired party in the family’s enclosed yard, then hand delivered the invitations packaged in fun kraft paper boxes.  So cute!

From Ashley: Our family just made a big move to West Africa – I knew I wanted to hold Gavin’s birthday party outdoors as we have a huge lush enclosed yard.  We thought the idea of an African camping safari would be perfect!

I loved the idea of a camp sign up sheet as the inspiration for the main invitation.  Knowing I had to hand deliver the invitations, as there is no local mail delivery service here, I wanted the invitations to be special.

I found the kraft treat boxes at Shop Sweet Lulu along with the favor bags.  In addition to a checklist for camp I also included a little package of s’mores for each child to get them excited about “camping” in our yard.  I finished them off with a monogram sticker and hand delivered them at the next play date.

Seth + Summer’s Modern Woodland Screen Printed Wedding Invitations

Now these are FUN wedding invitations – and I love the combination of modern illustration with a rustic woodland design theme!  Michael Casebolt of Casebolt Design + Illustration created these wedding invitations for good friends Seth and Summer, building his design from their love for western North Carolina.  The invitations were screen printed in two colors on the front and three colors inside by the talented folks of Mama’s Sauce.  Love!

From Seth: Summer and I both strive for perfection.  When it came to our wedding invitations we had very high expectations, to say the least.  Knowing our limitations, we contacted our friend Mike – designer/illustrator extraordinaire!  Summer and I met with Mike and presented our (very) rough sketch and flickr inspiration set.  We discussed our interest in national parks and our connections to western North Carolina and gave him free reign to have fun.

After only a short time of not knowing what to expect we received our first glimpse of Mike’s work: the two front panels of the invitation.  It was everything we had envisioned and more!  It made me WANT to open the flaps and see what was inside.  We told him it was awesome, urged him to continue, and patiently waited for what was to come.

Elaborating on the exterior look and tying together every loose end we had pitched him, Mike nailed it!  All the elements were included in one cohesive illustration that really defined our ideal wedding.  We were very pleased with Mike’s work and impressed with his ability to merge our concept with his playful style.

Thanks Mike!

Amy + Doug’s Western Romance Lace-Inspired Wedding Invitations

Amy and Doug wanted wedding invitations that reflected their romantic and rustic wedding style while also maintaining a certain level of formality and sophistication.  They worked with the team at Lucky Luxe Couture Correspondence to create a beautiful lace-inspired invitation suite that incorporates traditional but non-fussy wording and envelope liners made from vintage floral wallpaper.  So pretty!

From Erin at Lucky Luxe Couture Correspondence: Amy told us that she was planning a romantic western wedding overlooking Glacier National Park, with a wooden barn and log lodge as backdrops.  The wedding weekend will start with a kitschy Western theme rehearsal dinner, followed by a more formal and refined wedding with rustic linen and lace.

We imagined homemade cotton dresses, lace, and simple fonts without any fussy language.  The envelope liners are made from vintage floral wallpaper in shades of blue, peach, and cream.

We created handkerchief save the dates for the wedding with kraft paper envelopes, and since Amy was looking for something a little more refined but nothing too traditional, we used a metallic sand-colored envelope that looks like kraft paper’s glamorous sister for her invitation suite.

We used vintage eyelash lace to create the artwork used throughout the suite and printed in robin’s egg blue and subtle metallic bronze on 100% cotton ecru paper.  The small floral icons are from a circa-1900 cookbook that tie in with the vintage envelope liners.

Rubber Stamp Memorial Day Summer Kick Off Invitations

I absolutely LOVE the idea of using large scale rubber stamps to create party invitations – particularly a fun and informal summer kick-off party!  Lindsay from McMillian + Furlow used a single rubber stamp with black ink on kraft paper to create the invitations for her family’s annual Memorial Day event.  I love the modern but rustic feel, not to mention the unique texture of each individual invitation!

From Lindsay: I designed these invitations for my family’s annual Memorial Day Pig Roast.  Each year I try and come up with a new look and feel for the same event, which proves to be quite challenging, but I think this year’s design was quite a success!

I love how the stamp created such a nice texture with the ink on the kraft paper, making each invitation entirely unique.  The rustic feel really suits this outdoor upstate New York event.
