Ah – tiny footprints! Designer Kate Holgate created these darling baby announcements for the first child of her dear friend. Inspired by bright jewel tones and fabric, Kate created modern announcements that are full of pattern and personality. And of course we can’t forget the beautiful photo of the sweet newborn!
From Kate:Â My dear friend, Heather, asked if I might be willing to design her first baby’s announcements. Heather and her husband, Mike, are a fun, hip, wonderful couple. Heather and I chose bright jewel tones. Inspired by some fabric, I created a modern pattern for the announcement and utilized modern type to display the birth information.
To create an element of surprise, I asked Heather to give me a scan of her daughter’s newborn footprint for the front of the z-folded card. Crissie McDowell took Gemma’s photos. We tied the piece together with a “G is for Gemma” monogram and mailed the announcements in bright fuchsia envelopes. Gemma made her debut to family and friends in style.
