Emma + David’s Beach Inspired Destination Wedding Invitations

We’re definitely starting to see real signs of spring here in DC, but just a few weeks ago I would have given just about anything for a tropical beach vacation! Sara from Inkprint Letterpress created these invitations and day-of stationery for a December destination wedding in Costa Rica. I’m loving the coral and turquoise color palette and all the beach-inspired design elements!

From Sara: Working with Emma and David was an amazing experience. Emma and David were married in Costa Rica. Emma is the sweetest, most laid back bride I have ever met: she knew her style and what she wanted but was also open to ideas and input! They already had a map created by The Wandering Whale that they wanted to incorporate in the suite, and they knew they wanted to include the teal and coral with some abstract beach designs.

When they visited Costa Rica prior to the wedding, they realized the colors were much more vibrant there, so they asked me to make the coral more intense for the day of stationery. They also wanted me to incorporate a coral motif, which was present on pillows they used as decoration.

Kim + Garrett’s Whimsical Illustrated NYC Wedding Invitations

Happy Monday everyone! We’re still trying to get over the cold that brought our entire family down late last week (I was the final victim over the weekend), so I’m off to a rather sluggish start to the week. Thankfully these whimsical New York City skyline wedding invitations from Katie Fischer Design are helping to brighten the morning!

From Katie: Kim and Garrett are both professors and they met and fell in love in New York City. For their invitations, they wanted the city reflected in an artful, whimsical way.

I did a charcoal, pencil, and watercolor drawing on textured watercolor paper of the New York City skyline using energetic, graffiti-like lines. I hand-painted metallic silver accents to the finished pieces. The suite is flat printed on thick white cover with charcoal gray envelopes.

{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone! It’s been another crazy week over here, but we’re slowly digging out from all of our boxes! Sadly, Sophie came down with a bad cold this week, so we’ve been spending a lot of time trying to help our poor congested baby feel better. After what feels like a lifetime of packing, moving, and now unpacking, we’re determined to do something fun this weekend! But in the meantime…

Emily’s Whimsical Animal-Inspired Baby Shower Invitations

These whimsical baby shower invitations are beyond adorable – but I’d expect nothing less from the ladies of Wiley Valentine! Rachelle designed the invitations for a shower in honor of her business partner, Emily. Rachelle incorporated Emily’s love of animals throughout the design while also mixing in vintage-inspired elements and soft pastel colors. So pretty!

From Rachelle: Emily is not only my business partner of 11 years, but also one of my dearest and closest friends. I really wanted to capture her love for animals, her subtle “vintagey” style, and the muted color palette that is just so her. I was inspired by hand drawn fonts, old children’s books, and a small touch of whimsy.

The color palette was soft pastels: subtle aqua tones mixed with neutrals and a tiny hint of blush. The invitations were letterpress printed by Czar Press on extra thick cotton paper, with pale blush painted edges.

I had fun with the wording too, starting off with “We are Wildly Excited”, and including “it’s a girl” on a flag at the bottom of the invitation. The invitations really set the tone for the shower, where the elements of animals and the tag line “We are Wildly Excited” appeared.

Thanks Rachelle – and a big congrats to Emily!!
