Ilene + Lawrence’s Chateau-Inspired Formal Wedding Invitations

The ladies from Lucky Luxe Couture Correspondence sent over these gorgeous wedding invitations created for a black tie wedding.  The ladies of Lucky Luxe are known for their romantic and ornate designs, and this invitation is perfectly suited for a formal wedding.  The full suite includes a formal invitation, accommodations card, rsvp, and an invitation to Sunday brunch, all packaged together with a beautiful letterpress belly band and printed on thick cotton paper.  So pretty!

From Annalee: This wedding is going to be at the Chateau in New York and is very much inspired by classic French romance and calligraphic elements.  The bride was originally interested in the Deco and L’Oiseau designs from our collection but ultimately decided on a bespoke invitation that combined elements from both designs.

Thanks ladies!  You can check out more from Lucky Luxe right here!

  1. Hi Jeff! Most of these pieces are one-color letterpress. The entire invitation suite is likely the same price (or less) than an engraved wedding invitation, which is the norm for formal/black tie wedding invitations. Either way, it’s up to the individual couple and their families to decide if stationery is a priority for their wedding and how much they’re willing to budget for their invitations.

  2. Gorgeous! How classy are these, and the typesetting is spot on. Even though the design is ornate, there is a perfect balance keeping it from over the top. And Jeff- if people weren’t willing to pay extra for invitations, then there would be a lot less beautiful going on!

  3. Nole thank you, I am currently trying to create letterpress wedding invitations for my sister and to have just a custom die of a sunflower made is well over $200. Is each piece created using a custom die is the type just set using already existing dies?

  4. Hi Jeff!

I’m the designer of this invitation suite so I could tell you a little more about the printing particulars.

$200 for a die is outrageous! Each of the plates for the invitation in this suite cost around $22. They are designed using Adobe Illustrator and polymer plates of the designs are ordered from Boxcar Press or Elum. We don’t do any typesetting—they’re all custom plates from our EPS files. Hope that helps you!

  5. Erin,
Thanks so much, I have been getting outdated information about letterpress, I was unaware of the new polymer plates and the affordability. I always create my designs using Illustrator/InDesign but thought I could never afford to have a copper plate made but you have enlightened me to a whole new world. Thanks so much, your invitations are gorgeous. Could you tell me the type of paper used in this particular project?
