This is such a treat: graduation announcements! Designer and illustrator Rosie Bubb recently graduated from California Polytechnic State University and was kind enough to send over the announcements that she created to share the happy news with friends and family. Rosie created an illustration representing San Luis Obispo on one side of the postcard-style announcements, with academic details on the other. Congrats Rosie!
From Rosie: I recently graduated from Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo in Central California. The landscape of the my charming college home served as the inspiration for the design of my graduation announcements. Dubbed “The Happiest City in America” by Oprah, I wanted to share the happiness of San Luis Obispo with friends and family in the form of a bright and illustrative card. Creating a postcard-style announcement allowed room to highlight the quirk of my college years spent nestled in the hills and yet only minutes away from the beach. The reverse side includes all the academic and ceremony details.
The final design was digitally printed onto 110# cover stock by my classmates at the on-campus printing company – University Graphics Systems. The envelopes were supplied by Paper Sky, a darling paper and stationery boutique where I worked part time throughout college. I addressed the envelopes in my own form of messy cursive lettering with white ink.
Thanks Rosie! And congratulations again on your recent graduation!
