Classic black and white is the perfect combination for a formal wedding invitation suite – and even more so when the entire wedding will be black and white! Anne Kostecki designed the invitations to complement the sophisticated opera house wedding venue, with scroll details and an elegant script font. The invitations were letterpress printed on thick cotton paper and paired with black envelopes and a fun striped envelope liner!
From Anne: Margaret and Brian are based in Washington, D.C. but will be married in Margaret’s hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. They wanted an elegant invitation suite that reflects the formality of their venue: the Peabody Opera House in St. Louis. They were drawn to thick, luxurious paper and rich black ink for their black and white wedding.
I designed a simple scrolled frame and chose an engraved typeface paired with a script for their names. We incorporated dinner option illustrations into her RSVP card.
We printed on Crane Lettra paper in Pearl White with black ink. The wonderful Gilah Press + Design printed the invitations. The envelopes were black matte Euro flap with white calligraphy ink. We also had a matching striped envelope liner for a surprising pop of pattern.
Thanks Anne!
