Classic black and white is such a great color palette for a winter wedding – and even better with a touch of gold added in for some sparkle! Alison from One & Only created these lovely wedding invitations for a couple with a deep love of music. The suite features classic script text combined with whimsical details like sheet music envelope liners and a textured gold belly band.
From Alison: Jason and Kellsie’s wedding had a musical theme. Jason is an extremely talented saxophone player, and music is a fundamental part of their relationship – they met at a show where Jason was performing, and he later proposed on stage during another performance. We incorporated music into the design by lining their shiny gold envelopes with sheet music.
I kept the main invitation text heavy with a letterpress printed script font, which added some dimension and texture. The RSVP was also letterpress printed, and I hand lettered the black envelopes with white ink.
The map enclosure served the secondary purpose of holding everything in place. I designed a monogram, and on the back of the flap were hotel recommendations. I also drew a map of where the venue was located, which I printed on vellum and attached to the enclosure with washi tape.
Thanks Alison!
