Thank you sooo much for mentioning the article “In Praise of Mail” – I echo the author’s sentiments exactly and am so glad at least some of us still put pen to paper (and stamp to envelope, for that matter).
I also enjoyed In Praise of Mail. I’m such a fan of real mail I’ve recently started a blog devoted to the pleasures of sending letters and cards, including ideas for things to tuck into the envelopes: http://www.mailboxofdelight.blogspot.com/
I can’t imagine a world without mail. I can’t. I think maybe people just appreciate getting real mail even more now though. I think people will always send photos, send invitations, send thank you notes. I think these are things that can’t be replaced with facebook and texting.
