Another season of Downton Abbey has come and gone, and while I won’t get into the season finale I can definitely say that my favorite part of this season was Mary and Matthew’s wedding! And it appears that I’m not alone, since Erin from Lucky Luxe Couture Correspondence sent over this Downton Abbey-inspired invitation design! Called Lady Mary, the invitation features antique typefaces and flourishes inspired by the post-Edwardian period. Such a lovely combination!
From Erin:Â We took cues from Mary’s delicate dress, the warm grey color that permeates every scene in the sky, the silver, the clothes. We included ivy embellishments in the corners inspired by the gorgeous ornate veil piece Mary wears. The antique typefaces we used were created in the early 1920s and give the design post-Edwardian authenticity with polite English style.
Thanks Erin!

These are beautiful. I do wonder about the protocol however. I suspect that it wouldn’t be Mr and Mrs, but rather Lord and Lady Grantham.
Hi Marti! To avoid any copyright infringements we didn’t use the character names or Downton specifics for these samples, just variations of them. 🙂
Just lovely!!!
What a beautiful suite. Oh, Downton! It broke my heart again and again this season!
