Love Letter-Inspired Wedding Invitations

11/08/2010

Kate from Ruby & Willow designed these wedding invitations for a bride from North America marrying a New Zealander, and the entire invitation is so incredibly romantic I can barely stand it.  The design was inspired by old fashioned love letters and features the wording from their wedding song on the belly band and tag around the invitation and rsvp postcard.

I love the way Kate incorporates some texture into the invitation – the strip of fabric and striped twine are a perfect touch!

Loving those pops of red in an otherwise neutral color palette, not to mention the beautiful vintage postage stamps against a dramatic black envelope!

So, so gorgeous, and of course incredibly romantic.  Just stunning Kate – thank you so much for sharing these invitations!

I instantly fell in love with this idea! My fiance and I dated one week before he was deployed and we continued our relationship via letter writing. He now has a box with close to a hundred letters which we would love to incorporate into our wedding theme, and this seems like a perfect way to start the theme! Thank you so much!

Do you have a link to this whole wedding? I would love to see how the invite translated to the rest of the event.
    Thanks!

One of the best invitation suite I have seen in a long time. It is timeless, elegant and so simple. And the whole package is so well put together. Exactly how I would like to see invitations arriving in the post! I miss letters!
