Happy Friday everyone! Memory associations are such a funny thing. When we went into the hospital on September 10 last year, it was still hot and humid summer outside. When we came back out five days later with our baby girl (thanks induction!), it was cool and crisp fall. I will forever associate Sophie’s birthday with the changing of the seasons. And just yesterday, the temperatures thankfully dropped from the 90s to the mid-70s in just a couple hours. Which hopefully means good weather for a certain girl’s birthday party this weekend! But in the meantime…

Molly + Jeff’s Rustic Calligraphy Wedding Invitations

Fall may be just around the corner, but I couldn’t resist sharing these sweet summer wedding invitations from Sally of la Happy. Inspired by the farmette wedding venue, Sally created these invitations using her whimsical custom calligraphy and vintage farm motifs, all in shades of mint green and brown. Kraft envelopes and vintage postage are the perfect finishing touch!

From Sally: This invitation suite was designed for an adorable vintage farm wedding at Lyons Farmette in Lyons Colorado. The design was inspired by the vintage sweetness of the farmette wedding venue, but we also wanted a feminine and somewhat fancy feel to invitations.

The invitation suite features my calligraphy, vintage engravings of a lamb, an adorable typewriter typeface for the mad lib rsvp card, and a sweet green twine to tie it all together. The set includes a calligraphy invitation, response card, custom illustrated map, and coordinating envelopes. The outer kraft paper envelope has a custom arrow envelope liner with calligraphy addressing in sepia ink and vintage stamps. The invitation set was digitally printed on white cotton paper.

Travis + Laura’s Colorful Destination Wedding Invitations

School may be back in session, but it still feels plenty like summer! Irene and Blake from Sparkvites sent over these fun destination wedding invitations full of bright color and inspired by the relaxed feel of Hilton Head Island. The invitations mix letterpress and digital printing methods along with a beautiful script font and a bold floral pattern inspired by Lily Pulitzer. So pretty!

From Irene: We designed this custom invitation set for Travis and Laura’s destination wedding in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Laura’s inspiration for her wedding style came from a Lilly Pulitzer styled shoot, and she also wanted to incorporate the upscale but laid back feel of Hilton Head Island.

The invitation is letterpress printed and the additional cards and custom envelope liner are all digitally printed so we could use as much color as possible and keep the classic feel of the cotton letterpress paper.

What a week! In fact, it has been quite a busy summer – and between moving to a new house, trying to get settled, chasing after an energetic baby, and running a business I’ve felt like I haven’t had a moment to catch my breath in months. So I’m starting a new tradition for Oh So Beautiful Paper and taking a break the final week of August to enjoy these last few days of summer. We’ll be back with new posts on Tuesday, September 3 after Labor Day weekend! But in the meantime…
