Sarah’s Woodgrain Embossed Save the Dates

Good morning everyone!  I’ve got another set of reader-submitted Save the Dates to share with you today!  These S/Ds come from Sarah, who combined woodgrain embossed paper with vintage maps for a beautiful set of DIY Save the Dates:

From Sarah:  I printed the front card on a white woodgrain embossed paper.  Then the rest of the information I printed onto label sheets and used a circle cutter to cut them out.  I also scanned in an old map of the area around our wedding venue and circled the island where the wedding will be held.  Then I tied everything up with some baker’s twine and printed labels for the envelopes.  Oh, and I also used a scalloped scissors for the woodgrain paper.  Labor of love.

A labor of love indeed, but well worth the results!  These are gorgeous Sarah, thanks so much for sharing them with us!

  1. Absolutely gorgeous!! I am drooling over these! Where can I find the woodgrain paper?

  2. Hi! This is Sarah. Thanks for all the great comments:) The circle cutter I believe was martha stewart from Michaels. (my fiance was the one that actually did the circle cutting!! 🙂 As for the wood grain paper. I am the designer at a company called Greenroom ( where we do all eco paper products, mainly for target. We used to carry wood grain embossed notebooks there and this was left overs from our factory.

  3. *Sigh*…it figures. I love the green room eco products and have just about one of everything that target carries! Oh well, keep up the fabulous work!

  4. Gorgeous! This is so different and would be great for my upcoming destination wedding! What kind of paper did you print the scanned map on to? And was it printed on one side only? Thanks!

  5. Hi Sarah,

I designed my sister’s wedding STD’s based upon your design. Absolutely LOVE yours and as a result, mine has gotten incredible take-aways. Just a question, how did you design the formal invitation? I would love to see the partner to it! (Trying to decide which direction to go in)
