Illustration + Hand Lettering by Kristine Lombardi

When illustrator Kristine Lombardi sent over a few photos from her portfolio, I literally almost fell out of my chair – I love her work that much!  Kristine has worked mostly on editorial and publishing assignments but says that she's recently been doing lots of work for weddings, including hand-drawn and lettered maps, invitations, announcements, and other invitation elements.

Here are a few examples of Kristine's work:

So, so lovely – from the maps to the ee cummings poem, I just love each piece.  Kristine also has an absolutely adorable website, which you can check out – along with the rest of her portfolio – right here!

{moving announcements – duet letterpress}

It seems like summer is always moving season here in DC.  Whether it's recently-graduated college students moving out and on to new jobs and new cities, Capitol Hill staffers moving into or out of the city, or diplomats moving overseas for new assignments or back to DC after a few years' absence, there's always a moving truck making its way up or down our narrow residential streets.  So, in the spirit of moving season, I was absolutely thrilled to find these lovely moving announcement cards from duet letterpress:

Duet letterpress will take a photo of your new house and turn it into a custom drawing, which will then be included with your custom announcements:

Such a wonderful idea!  And believe it or not, these custom letterpress announcements won't break the bank – just check out the duet letterpress etsy shop for more info.

{jim datz posters + illustrations}

I absolutely adore these New York-themed posters designed by Jim Datz, which Three Potato Four recent added to their store collection:

I did some investigating to see if there were any other versions of the poster available, and found Jim Datz's impressive design portfolio instead:

His portfolio is full of fun illustrations (like the ones above), business collateral, and print design. Check it out on his website, neither fish nor fowl.

Just when you think you’ve seen everything…

…you see a wedding invitation packaged in a tin can:

Tincanweddinginvitation

The invitation was greated by Greek designer Chris Trivizas and is literally all in Greek, so I can't read the invitation myself, but the invitation apparently includes instructions to guests to tie the can to the couple's getaway car (naturally) at the wedding.  What do you all think about this unusual wedding invitation idea?
