Paper Artwork: Optimism + Love

I’m always on the hunt for beautiful prints and artwork – and I’m particularly partial to anything with an optimistic or happy sentiment.  These are a couple of recent prints that have caught my eye…

“If you knew how much I love you, you’d faint” by Love Maki (in french and english)

Now I only need to choose my favorite color and language combinations!

Red + Turquoise Circus Theme Baby Shower Invitations

How cute are these letterpress baby shower invitations?  Jason from Missing Q Press created these invitations for a circus theme baby shower this past weekend.  From the bright red and turquoise color palette, to the stripes and fun circus-inspired fonts, to the vintage animal illustrations, I’m loving the entire design!

From Jason:  The baby shower is for Sara Fay and Merrick (baby due this summer) and will be hosted by Todd Fiscus, owner of Todd. Event Design.  Todd wanted to do a circus themed party, so I incorporated some stripes, vintage animals, and circus fonts.  The invitation suite includes a striped envelope liner and we used vintage stamps on the outer envelope.

For a gift, I designed and printed a one-of-a-kind poster for Sara Fay where she can have the baby’s name and birthdate calligraphed once the baby is born.  Sara Fay’s last name is Egan so an “E for Elephant” was the perfect choice for my print.

{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone!  Do you have anything fun planned for your weekend?  Despite my enthusiasm for the cherry blossoms, it’s still pretty cold and wintery here, so I have a feeling I’ll be spending most of the weekend bundled up as I try to check things off my to-do list.  But in the meantime…

…a few links for your weekend!

This week on Oh So Beautiful Paper:

That’s it for me this week!  I hope you all have a lovely weekend, and I’ll see you back here on Monday! xoxo

Cherry Blossoms

Spring!  It may have been cold and overcast yesterday here in DC, but it’s officially spring and I couldn’t be happier to finally say goodbye to winter.  Also excited for the official start of spring?  The cherry blossom trees!  They literally burst into bloom overnight a couple days ago, just in time for the official Cherry Blossom Festival that starts next week.  I couldn’t resist the opportunity to bask in the glow of my favorite pale pink blossoms before the huge tourist crowds get here, so my mom and I went down for quick a walk around the the Tidal Basin.

It’s amazing how these tiny little blossoms can make me so happy, and this even before the lilacs and peonies start to bloom!  Can you tell that spring is my favorite season of the year?

Jessica + Steven’s Retro Black and White Wedding Invitations

How fun are these wedding invitations from Product Superior?  John and Jenn created these invitations for a recent wedding, and I’m loving the playful retro vibe!  With the crisp black and white color palette (and a few well-placed touches of gold), the invitations and accompanying day-of pieces have lots of masculine elements designed to please both the bride and groom – all while conveying a fun and festive atmosphere to the wedding guests.
