Lindsey + Blake’s Floral Noir Wedding Invitations

There’s just something so striking about a dark and moody floral design, don’t you think? I love the way Becca at Suite Paperie paired the moody florals with whimsical hand lettered and informal sans-serif text. And that black and white striped envelope liner?? So good!

From Becca: This luxe and beautiful wedding invitation suite features double-mounting and a digitally printed full color floral motif. Inspired by a Ted Baker dress that all of the bridesmaids wore at the wedding, this floral invitation is both bright and fun. A play on patterns and textures gives this suite both a touch of elegance and whimsy.

Kelly’s Citrus-Inspired Bridal Shower Invitations

Today is such a special day: I get to share the invitations for my friend Kelly’s bridal shower! Kelly is both an old friend and one of my first contributors here at OSBP – but you might also know her from her own blog, Studio DIY. Kelly’s bridal shower invitations were the result of a collaboration between Isabel of 9th Letter Press and Kelly’s bridesmaid (and our mutual friend) Janice of Bellwether Events (who knows just a little thing or two about throwing a good party). The citrus-inspired invitation design is so much fun – and so Kelly!

From Isabel: Janice from Bellwether Events and I worked together to create a bridal shower invitation suite that’s fun, fresh and super bright. We went with citrus hues like key lime, grapefruit, and lemon. I LOVE all these pretty vibrant colors together! Kelly had no idea that 9th Letter Press was behind the invitations as Janice wanted to surprise her. I only wish I could have seen her face when Kelly opened the invitation!

Janice enclosed the invitations in a box with a citrus patterned liner, fun stamps and sugared tropical flavored candy. The suite included the invitation, an information sheet, RSVP card and envelope, bingo game set, menu, placemat, thank you cards, and all the fixings to make the box look fabulous.

From Kelly: I am such a huge fan of 9th Letter Press. I was floored when I got my shower invitation in the mail and realized Isabel was behind them! It was such a happy surprise! I told my bridesmaids that I love a good theme through and through, and Isabel’s design set the stage for quite the “Pucker Up” bash! I was getting calls and emails from family and friends gushing about every last detail… and I can’t blame them! It’s a total dream come true to have one of Isabel’s designs just for me!

Happy National Doughnut Day Everyone! After 14 recaps from this year’s National Stationery Show, I’m ready for a doughnut and a nice long nap – or at least to go vacuum my house or attend to one of the many other chores I’ve been neglecting the last couple of weeks! I hope you enjoyed the coverage from this year’s show! Next week I’ll be back to my normal editorial schedule with some fun new posts, but in the meantime…

Joy’s DIY Tea Bag Bridal Shower Invitations

These DIY bridal shower invitations are so creative – and I love the sentiment behind them! As a bridesmaid in her cousin’s wedding, Joy Ang wanted to create a memorable invitation experience for guests at her cousin’s bridal shower. After a bit of thought and experimentation, Joy came up with these tea bag invitations that fit perfectly with the shower theme!

From Joy: Last year I was a bridesmaid for my cousin’s wedding and I got the chance to design her bridal shower invitations. The theme was an Alice in Wonderland tea party, and that’s what led me to thinking about tea bag-shaped invitations. However, I wanted them to have a little more impact on the guests, so I thought it would be really fun to make the invitations hold tea leaves that you could brew and drink.

After a couple of prototypes, I created these invitations by printing on vellum paper, which allowed the tea leaves to show through. I then assembled the invitations similarly to how you would with an actual tea bag, using the tag at the end of the string as instructions for brewing the leaves. This was such an enjoyable project to work on and I’m so glad I was able to make it for my cousin and her shower!

Christine + Danny’s Sophisticated Floral Wedding Invitations

Last month, designer Kate Holgate sent over these vibrant navy and pink floral wedding invitations. Today she’s back with another floral invitation, this time pairing elegant sophistication with vintage floral illustrations. The green, black, and white color palette was inspired by the wedding floral arrangements and bridesmaid dresses. So pretty!

From Kate: Christine is a close family friend and was married last December in Boise, Idaho. She was so laid-back and open to ideas. I loved working with her. Christine has impeccable taste. She wanted a invitation suite that was not over-the-top but unique.

Her flowers were white and green, and her bridesmaids were wearing black. I decided to use classic type paired with vintage floral illustrations for the design.

Digitally printed on a pearlized paper, we tied the piece with a monogram and black + white striped string. The result was stunning (just like the bride!).

Thanks so much Kate!
