Kristen + Ryan’s Red and Black New Year’s Eve Wedding Invitations

When I think of New Year’s Eve wedding invitations, I usually think of metallics and sparkles, but Colleen from Cleanwash Letterpress has me fully convinced that red and black can also work for a New Year’s wedding!  Colleen created these lovely letterpress invitations for a bride that wanted a feminine design in a red and black color palette for her New Year’s Eve wedding.  I love the floral illustration that Colleen created to frame the invitation and enclosures.

Marissa + Tom’s Aqua Blue Faux Bois Wedding Invitations

Happy Monday everyone!  I’m starting off the week with a playful set of wedding invitations from Allie Ruth Design that combines aqua and faux bois!  Together with yellow stitching and a selection of cute vintage stamps, the invitation suite has a sweet and quirky vibe perfect for an incredibly sweet couple.

Faux-Bois-Wedding-Invitations-Suite

From Allie:  I made these invitations for my friends, Tom and Marissa.  I am so honored that I had the opportunity to custom-design wedding invitations for this couple.  They are so much fun and a really sweet people.  They came to me with a loose vision of what they wanted – a vintage-inspired design with faux bois on aqua paper, stitched details, and real lace belly bands.  The rest was up to me!

I decided to go for a “formal and quirky” feel with these, bringing in the glassine envelopes, ribbon banner labels, and bright yellow thread.  I think the vintage stamps are my favorite part – the colors go so well with the rest of suite!

Spring Wedding Invitations from Campbell Raw Press

Maggie from Campbell Raw Press sent me a little sneak peek at the new designs in her wedding invitation collection, and I’m loving the spring inspired botanical elements!  Maggie included a little background behind each invitation design, so scroll down for more info…

Spring-Letterpress-Blind-Impression-Wedding-Invitations-Leaves

Leaves:  I used one of my own drawings, giving the text a bright cushion of leaves printed in pale green under gray lettering. This invite suite pairs with pale green envelopes that match the ink color on the vine background.  These would be perfect for a spring or summer wedding – airy and natural.

Entwined:  This suite is all about taking advantage of the sculptural, tactile nature of letterpress printing.  The couple’s initials are blended and printed as a blind deboss – just impression, no ink.  The invitation text is just a simple black, making this design spare and elegant and sophisticated.  Available with or without a chiyogami (Japanese silkscreened paper) envelope liner to dress up the invitation suite.

Signature:  I used a delicate vine drawing of mine with elegant text.  A tiny sprig is encircled by the couple’s name and wedding date, and the text of the invitation itself is set in simple, serif font.  The wedding date is blind debossed along the bottom and  I just love the invitation with gray envelopes.

You can check out the entire collection right here – thanks Maggie!
