Jaimie + Miles’s Rustic Jackson Hole Wedding Invitations

I’m in love with every detail in these Jackson Hole wedding invitations from Cara at XOWYO! From the antlers used throughout the suite to the screen printed wood veneer rehearsal dinner invitations to the green edge painting, this invitation suite is perfectly understated and entirely cohesive. Love!

From Cara: When Jaimie and her mother came to me for her wedding invitations, they wanted a letterpress printed suite their friends and family had not seen before. As a buyer for Macy’s, Jaimie has great style and really led the direction of this suite and other paper products. She wanted her invitations to reflect the woodsy, rustic, and western themes of Jackson Hole, but without being too stereotypical or kitchsy. With plans to be married on a ranch, they envisioned antlers, brands, wood, and kraft paper.

We first discussed using Jackson’s iconic antler arch for her invitations, but ultimately decided to use just the antlers. We carried the antler theme throughout her entire wedding, from invitation to cocktail napkins. We also decided that rather than using a wood print, or an image of a tree trunk, we would incorporate real wood into the invitation suite with the rehearsal dinner invitation, which was screen printed onto walnut wood veneer. And of course, we added a custom brand like one would find on any Jackson Hole ranch.

We selected 220# ecru paper for the invitation and reply, with edge painting to incorporate the green color Jaimie would use oner wedding tables. Combined with the gray ink and wood card, this set the tone for her contemporary rustic affair. We decided to do the event invitation in an 80# moss green stock because Jamie needed to convey so much information that it printed perfectly on the inside of the folded card. The website card ended up being a last minute addition, and tucked inside the event invitation perfectly.

For the wedding, Jaimie found all the vintage keys in her home state of Texas. I printed guests name on parchment paper and then tied them together with champagne silk ribbon. We also created kraft paper bags filled with lavender, which guests used to shower the couple as they walked down the aisle.

Kate + Philip’s Sophisticated Calligraphy Wedding Invitations

Happy Monday everyone! I’m excited to share more with you from the NYNOW winter market in just a bit, but first we’re starting the day with some gorgeous wedding invitations and save the dates from Melissa at Atheneum Creative! Melissa created a sophisticated yet whimsical suite featuring calligraphy from Michele of Meant to Be Calligraphy. Just beautiful!

From Melissa: Philip proposed to Kate with a poem on a kite. And I just thought it was so cute we had to use it as a foundation for their wedding stationery. For their save the date, the Kate and Philip really wanted a magnet. When we hear those words we always try to think outside the box from the standard save the date 4 x 6″ magnet.

Introducing the theme for the day, we created a removable kite magnet with a custom monogram that guests can hang on the fridge. The monogram uses the shape of the kite to keep the look and feel of the day.

Kate and Philip are a very whimsical couple, and along with the whimsical engagement we felt the use of very playful and easy flowing calligraphy would work so well for the invitation. We had some fun with the wording and let the color palette push the more romantic and slightly rustic feel for the day.

Sarah + Alan’s Modern Toile Wedding Invitations

I love toile. Really really love. So I was thrilled when Erin at Lucky Luxe sent over these beautiful wedding invitations with a modern take on classic toile! The custom toile pattern is made from vintage engravings and was inspired by 18th century French toile textiles. Erin paired bright persimmon ink with classic black and white and mixed whimsical lettering with traditional serif text – all with incredibly chic results!

From Erin: To make the toile pattern for the invitation, we pieced together several vintage engravings of beautiful outdoor scenery and florals, and I was tickled to death to find the sweet couple taking a stroll deep in our bag of tricks.

French toile is typically printed in red, black, or blue, but we wanted to take this toile down a different aesthetic path. By combining it with quirky hand drawn lettering and a small, traditional serif, it just felt right to print in punchy persimmon ink with black text. The bride is a fashion maven and the bold color pairing looks like her wardrobe — another inspiration for the outdoor event.

Sarah + Brian’s Western Watercolor Wedding Invitations

Happy Monday everyone! I’m on my way up to NYC for the Winter NYNOW market (you can follow the show along with me via Instagram!), but I’m excited to start the week with a pair of really gorgeous wedding invitations! First up, a fun invitation suite from AllieRuth Design that mixes a western vibe with romantic details like calligraphy and floral patterns. Such a wonderful combination!

Western-Watercolor-Wedding-Invitations-AllieRuth-Design

From Allie: We had SO much creating this suite. Sarah and Brian really allowed me to run with their ideas and put something together that stands out among the AllieRuth portfolio. We worked with Mama’s Sauce, our favorite rock star printers, to take on the unique task of letterpress printing a blind impression woodgrain texture and then screen printing in metallic ink.

The reception took place on a beautiful ranch, inside of a horse barn. The couple wanted to incorporate that western vibe in a subtle way, so we mixed a funky retro font with my calligraphy, and brought in soft details with the lace band, watercolors, and floral envelope liner.
