Regal Navy and Gold Foil Calligraphy Wedding Invitations

Here’s a little something fancy to brighten your day: gorgeous and regal navy and gold foil calligraphy wedding invitations fromKara Anne Paper! Let’s all take a moment to appreciate the gold foil detailing on the back flap of the navy envelopes. The foliage pattern, complemented by the couple’s wedding crest, is elevated and over the top in all the best ways.

From Kara: This wedding invitation suite was designed for one of my best friends, Meg and her sweet husband, Brian. Creating their custom paper goods came easily to me! Knowing Meg and Brian’s personality and style I knew I wanted to design a classic, elegant invitation suite with a hint of some whimsical touches. To tie in Meg’s love for antique treasures from her grandparents, I incorporated gold foil accents and an intricately designed wedding monogram. After seeing the navy bridesmaids dresses chosen for their February wedding, I knew a deep navy envelope would make the perfect final touch to wow their guests. It created a gorgeous contrast from the bright white paper and the handwritten gold calligraphy that graced the envelopes.

The invitation design was 5.5″ x 8.5″ (A9) and foil printed on a thick Conservation Board paper. The details card was 4.5″ x 4.5″ and printed on the same paper using a dark navy letterpress ink. For an extra soft, romantic touch, a blush hand-made silk ribbon was used to tie the cards together so that they would stay stacked nicely inside of the envelope.

To tie the wedding program in with their invitation suite, I included navy lettering, custom hand painted watercolor florals and a charming illustration of the Chapel where Meg and Brian exchanged their vows. A soft, hand-made silk ribbon was also tied on the programs.

The custom designed details did not stop with the invitation suite. Throughout the ceremony and reception, there were several signs including; gorgeous navy and gold beverage and food signs, a welcome sign, direction sign and a little sign for the guests gifts from the bride and groom! To thank the groomsmen for being a part of their wedding celebration, we had custom Tervis Tumblers made with their wedding logo. This was of course a hit, along with the gold foil napkins and frosted beverage cups.

Vintage-Meets-Modern Floral Wedding Invitations

Charleston, South Carolina is an enchanting combination of classic Southern elegance and modern, swanky glam! Melissa of Atheneum Creative (and one of the talented members of our Designer Rolodex!) drew her inspiration from the wedding location to create these vintage-meets-modern floral wedding invitations. We’re loving the unique accordion fold layout (everything was mailed in a No. 10 envelope!), elegant gold foil text, and vintage-inspired floral illustrations of this stunning wedding invitation suite!

From MelissaThe couple’s wedding style was a mix of modern and romantic, which played well with the wedding location of Charleston, South Carolina. The bride wanted something more floral and romantic while the groom wanted something that was a little more modern, so we decided to mix the two styles together in this completely custom design. We love the contrast between the vintage feel of the flowers with the more modern feel of the invitation card.

The couple decided to get married under a large oak tree and wanted the tree to play a presence in their wedding invitations. The tree was illustrated by the bride’s brother and printed in gold foil on the wedding invitation. The ceremony location at Middleton Place is a national historic landmark and home to America’s oldest landscaped gardens, so it felt right to bring in lots of flowers as the base of the invitation design.

The invitation itself is an accordion fold card that is foil printed and mounted to a digitally-printed backing sheet with the vintage-inspired illustrated flowers. The reply envelope was printed in gold foil and the entire suite was mailed in a number 10 envelope. The colors of the greens and coral flowers were all picked up from the location and the dresses of the bridesmaids. We simply loved how this suite came together!

Classic and Romantic Dusty Blue Wedding Invitations

These romantic wedding invitations from Patricia of Fourteen-Forty feature a color that we don’t often see in wedding invitations: dusty blue! But really, what color would be more fitting for an intimate outdoor wedding in upstate New York?? These classic and romantic dusty blue wedding invitations balance traditional wording and type selections with a whimsical floral border illustration and subtle dusty blue envelope liner. Perfect for a romantic black tie affair, and just so, so lovely.

Classic and Romantic Dusty Blue Wedding Invitations by Fourteen-Forty

From Patricia: Monica and David had an intimate wedding in upstate New York last fall surrounded by their closest friends and family. From the stunning arrangements to Monica’s wedding gown, this outdoor wedding was an absolute dream! When we first met Monica, she wasn’t sure what to expect from the stationery process. But as we started designing together, we could definitely tell she was getting much more excited about the paper goods and how they would add so much to her wedding vision! Monica wanted something romantic, so we stuck to traditional wording but added special touches like the liner and floral border.

Together we decided on a beautiful two tone palette of dusty blue and navy, which played out in the bridesmaid dresses, linens, and most importantly Monica’s wedding ring! The entire suite was letterpress printed, which gave the blue and white palette more dimension and a luxe finish. We loved that we could work in these personal details to make a suite that was specifically for her.

Often times our clients want a map and events card whether it’s a one-sided sheet or an elaborate accordion! For Monica, we designed a great little map to pinpoint the important events. We always tell our clients that the invitation is an opportunity to get their guests excited about the weekend and a beautiful map is a great way to do this! It gives everyone a sense of place, and more practically, allows them to prepare properly for the kinds of celebrations that are going to happen.

When it comes to the day-of pieces, we usually like to bring back aspects of the client’s invitations for a more cohesive look. We love that we were able to use the beautiful garland from her main invitation in her table numbers and timeline of events!
