Erin + Blake’s Gold Foil and Letterpress Wedding Invitations

The resurgence of metallics – and gold foil in particular – has been one of my favorite design trends over the last couple of years.  I love the subtle way gold foil text is paired with a letterpress blind impression (no ink) pattern in these wedding invitations from Courtney Callahan Paper.  Modern, fresh, and sophisticated all at the same time!

From Courtney:  Erin and Blake are a modern couple with a keen sense of style, and they each had opinions on how they wanted their invitation suite to look.  For the blind impression pattern, we decided to mimic the circles used in the logo of their wedding venue, the Palladium; this element was carried throughout each piece of the suite and the materials used on their wedding day.

Printed on Crane’s Lettra in pearl, the invitation suite was produced using metallic gold foil stamping and a letterpress blind emboss.  The suite included an invitation with hot pink edge painting, along with a reception card and response card with a custom monogram detail.  Inner envelopes were lined in hot pink to match the edge painting on the invitation.

Edge Painted Business Cards from Antiquaria

You already know Bailey and Emma, the lovely and talented ladies behind Antiquaria, from their regular DIY tutorials here on Oh So Beautiful Paper – not to mention their custom wedding invitations and vintage shop.  Bailey and Emma recently redesigned their business cards, and I’m loving the beautiful knockout calligraphy logo and soft aqua edge painting!

From Bailey and Emma: We wanted to make something unique while keeping in line with our brand image.  The cards were letterpress printed in black and copper on super thick cotton paper.  We then added the edge painting ourselves because, after all, who doesn’t love a pop of color?

Thanks ladies!

Eve + Mike’s Metallic Silver New Year’s Eve Wedding Invitations

These wedding invitations from Wiley Valentine mix classic design with a bit of sparkle.  Rachelle and Emily created these letterpress invitations for a New Year’s Eve wedding, pairing classic silver ink and edge painting with embellished packaging and a sparkly fabric wrap – perfect for a winter wedding!

From Rachelle at Wiley Valentine: Eve and Mike’s wedding invitations were letterpress printed by hand with silver edge painting.  The invitation suite includes a custom map and a tiny reception card that fit inside a coin envelope.  The groom preferred simple and classic design while the bride really wanted some bling, so we added some fabulous silver fabric as a wrap inside the invitation.

The bride really wanted something special to arrive in the mail.  The presentation was really important to her, so we had custom cloth covered boxes made with her charcoal and silver color palette.  The inside silver fabric wrap was also used as table runners at the wedding.

We kept the design of the pieces classic with clean fonts and a bold monogram using their first initials, all letterpress printed on white white cotton paper in silver ink.  Silver edge painting added a bit of sparkle.

The tiny reception card was tucked inside a letterpress envelope adorned with a single Swarovski crystal.  We created a digitally-printed hand drawn map to let guests know the location of the ceremony and the reception.

Thanks Rachelle and Emily!

{happy weekend!}

It’s officially my favorite season in DC; the cherry blossoms are starting to bloom, the sun is shining (mostly), and everything is our garden is starting to come back to life.  Yay!  I’ve been working with the windows open all week and trying to spend as much time outside as possible.  I’m looking forward to doing some gardening this weekend – and sometimes we take our cat Olive outside with us (she loves it!).  But in the meantime…

Zayra + Ivan’s Vintage-Inspired Gray + Celadon Wedding Invitations

These wedding invitations are so pretty!  Created by Erin from Lucky Luxe Couture Correspondence, Zayra and Ivan’s invitations feature beautiful vintage-inspired design elements with soft celadon edge painting.  The classic text and vintage-inspired elements are perfect for a formal wedding, while the subtle color provides just a hint of modern sophistication.  So pretty!

From Erin: Zayra chose this suite based on a similar invitation that we featured on our blog last year, but the original black and ecru color palette didn’t fit her “Marie Antoinette in the country” inspired wedding in Texas.  We love this suite so much, particularly because of its quirkiness and handmade style.

Zayra’s wedding palette included celadon, rose pink, and and metallic gold and we pared it down until it was a simpler look in just the celadon and a medium gray with edge painting in celadon as well.  We’re looking forward to adding this new design to our collection!

Thanks Erin!
