New Year’s Eve Party Printables

True story: this entire post was inspired by a trip down the snacks aisle of my local grocery store. I have a MAJOR weakness for Rice Krispies Treats and couldn’t resist picking up a box while ostensibly shopping for the more appropriate items on my list. But I got to thinking about New Year’s Eve and how I always want a sweet post-midnight snack, so I thought I’d combine a few of my favorite items into a cute favor bag with a printable label that you can hand out to your guests on New Year’s Eve! Plus, Lauren created a beautiful fill-in card for you and your guests to record your New Year’s resolutions, giving us a perfect trio of New Year’s Eve party printables. Just add in some champagne (or a couple of signature cocktails) and you’ve got everything you need for a fantastic fête on New Year’s Eve!

I also found some travel size bottles of pain reliever tablets at the grocery store, and it seemed like a good idea to toss one of those into the favor bags for any friends that might, ahem, find themselves with a bit of a headache the next day. But pain reliever labels aren’t the cutest thing in the world, so I created a little label to use instead. You can find both printable labels for download below!

To make the New Year’s resolutions card, just download the template here and print onto text weight or cover weight letter-sized paper. Use a paper trimmer to cut the printed paper into quarters. So easy!

To make the favor bags:

Step 1. Download the printable favor bag label template here, and print onto text weight or cover weight letter-sized paper in the color of your choice. Cut out each individual label using scissors or a paper trimmer. If you like, you can add a bit of sparkle to your labels using a metallic gold paint pen.

Step 2. Attach the label to your favor bag (mine are from the Sugar Paper collection for Target!) using washi tape. Fill with some of your favorite treats, a travel size bottle of pain reliever tablets (you can find a cute label for the travel size bottles here), and perhaps a bit of sparkly confetti, and set them out for guests to grab on their way home!

How to Host a Backyard Fire Pit Party

As if a bathroom renovation wasn’t enough, my husband and I are getting ready to do a bit of work in our backyard! When we first moved in almost three years ago, we were thrilled to have a little outdoor space where we could grow some plants and entertain friends. I’ve been working on the garden, but we’re planning to make our backyard a little bit more friendly for the entertaining part. And with these cold winter nights, I’ve got backyard fire pit parties on the brain! A warm fire, cozy blankets, and of course s’mores! I’m sharing some ideas for hosting a backyard fire pit party in my latest guide for eBay!

A Copper Holiday Hot Chocolate Bar

A few weeks ago, the editors at Better Homes & Gardens asked me to share some ideas for holiday entertaining in partnership with Keurig. I’m a big coffee drinker, but when it comes to cold winter nights I seriously crave hot chocolate, and I was super excited to discover that the Keurig brewers can make single mugs of hot chocolate in addition to coffee and espresso! So I put together the hot chocolate bar of my dreams – with tons of copper details for holiday sparkle! The full post is up over on the Better Homes & Gardens blog, Delish Dish!

You’ll find plenty of metallic holiday party inspiration along with some tips for setting up an amazing hot chocolate bar for parties any time of year! This was my first time using a Keurig brewer and it was so easy – and the easy set up and clean up makes them totally perfect for a party. Plus, who doesn’t love a nice mug of hot chocolate on a cold winter night? The Keurig brewers also make fantastic espresso drinks, which would be great to bring out as the party starts to wind down.

Here’s how to make the magnolias:

Step 1 + 2. Cut out six large petals using your cream crepe paper, stretch the paper grain to form a deep, bowl shape. Place hot glue at the bottom of three large petals and adhere them, as outlined in the diagram below.

Step 3 + 4. Fold the bottoms of the three remaining large petals, to provide a deeper bowl shape and a little bit more body then the last.

Step 5. Hot glue the three new petals on top of the original three large petals, alternating to form a flower shape.

Step 6 + 7. Cut three small petals using your cream crepe paper, stretch the paper grain to form a deep, bowl shape. Just like your large petals, fold the bottoms of your small petals to provide a deeper bowl shape and give them a little bit more body!

Step 8. Glue the small petals on top of the large petals, alternating where the last petals were placed.

Step 9 + 10. Cut out one bud, using your cream crepe paper. Stretch the paper grain of your bud to form a smooth square.

Step 11. Scrunch a small piece of scrap paper into a tight ball. Adhere your the scrap paper ball on top of your polystyrene sphere with a dab of hot glue. Cover the polystyrene sphere using your bud square, twisting the excess crepe paper at the bottom. Paint the bud gold using liquid gold leaf. Once dry, trim the bottom of the bud.

Step 12. Place hot glue at the bottom of the bud and adhere to the center of your flower!

To create the name tags simply trace your leaf shape found in your Magnolia pattern onto cream cardstock. Write the names of your guests with gold ink, then cut and place inside your paper magnolia.
