Wedding Stationery Inspiration: Art Deco
05/15/2013With last weekend’s premiere of the new Great Gatsby movie (Who’s seen it!?), I thought it was high time I did a roundup of Art Deco inspired wedding stationery! While we know it will be a trend now, a lot of the distinct typography and unique motifs are timeless! You can also play around with some dramatic hues, mixed with black and gold. Talk about a statement! — Kelly

Clearly I’m loving large-scale stationery statements at weddings lately! My motto for the year is “giant is the new mini,” after all. Today we’re talking signs for the ceremony. For those brides out there who want a special introduction (and why wouldn’t you!?), why not have the little ones in your wedding party carry down a “Here Comes the Bride” sign? A little fancy calligraphy, a colorful DIY variety, I love them all! Here’s a few fun banners to get you started (and a few adorable kids sporting them!). — Kelly

Wedding Stationery Inspiration: Menu Signs
04/17/2013We’ve talked before about personal wedding menus, placed at each seat or table, but today we’re talking menus on a larger scale! Menu signs can often be a cost effective option for large weddings, as you can have just one or two over-sized pieces displaying your dinner or cocktail menu, rather than creating individual versions for each guest. They also happen to make quite the statement at your big day! Recruit your calligrapher to work their magic on a chalkboard or wood slab, or work with your stationery designer to design a stunning menu banner that captures the same feel as your smaller paper goods. Then prop it up or hang it from above for all wedding attendees to see! — Kelly

Wedding Stationery Inspiration: Mint
04/10/2013I tend to gravitate towards bright, vibrant colors (Remember this post all about emerald?), but when springtime begins to roll around, pastels start tugging at my heart. Mint appears to be the “it” pastel of the season and I am not complaining! The hue happens to pair perfectly with gold, too, making me love it just that much more. Here are a few wonderful ways to incorporate this springy shade into your wedding day! — Kelly

Whether you’re saving Grandma’s seat, or reserving your place at the sweetheart table, reserved signs will come in handy. There’s always a few people at a wedding that deserve a special seat, and there’s no reason not to use this excuse to bring in another beautiful piece of day-of stationery! Placed on the seat, tied on chairs or standing atop a table, a little great calligraphy or sweet illustration goes a long way! — Kelly
