Inspired By: Cats

If you’ve met me in person – or browsed through my Instagram stream – you probably know that I’m kind of a crazy cat lady. My husband and I adopted two cats when we first started living together, and over the years we’ve rescued a few more, bringing our current total to five – not to mention the foster cats that went on to permanent homes and the friendly semi-feral alley cats that we keep an eye on in our neighborhood. So for any fellow cat people out there, here’s a quick little round up of some favorite feline-themed goodies!

Inspired by: Eyeballs

I’ve been seeing eyeballs (and eyeball patterns) everywhere for the past couple of months –  from dresses and clutches to jewelry and ceramics to stationery! My husband thought I was completely crazy when I first mentioned this new trend, but I keep seeing more and more of this quirky pattern as we get further into summer. I think it’s so fun!

Inspired By: Watermelons

It definitely feels like summer has arrived here in DC, and with it watermelon season! Which is good news for this pregnant lady. We may have just celebrated an entire day dedicated to the donut, but I’m pretty sure watermelons are getting ready to have their day in the sun – they were everywhere at the National Stationery Show! So with temperatures climbing ever higher, today I thought I’d round up a few of my favorite watermelon stationery items (and a few non-stationery items, too)!

Inspired By: Spring Florals

Spring has long been my favorite season, and that’s even more the case after spending the last 10+ years in DC. I love the way our neighborhood suddenly bursts into color with cherry blossoms, dogwood trees, lilacs, and azaleas all in bloom. These days, I’m feeling particularly inspired by spring colors and floral patterns, from jewelry to stationery to home decor.

Inspired By: Rose Gold

Since we’re already on the subject of beautiful metallic foil today, I couldn’t help but think of my current favorite metallic hue: rose gold! Don’t get me wrong, I still love gold, silver, and copper, but there’s something so soft and romantic about rose gold. I just can’t get enough, from jewelry to stationery to utensils. I’m looking forward to seeing lots, lots more beautiful rose gold over the coming months!
