Lisa + Paul’s Gold New Year’s Eve Wedding Invitations

With 2015 just a couple of weeks away (!!), I couldn’t resist sharing these sparkly gold New Year’s Eve wedding invitations from Courtney Callahan Paper. Courtney paired gold foil and calligraphy with clock and confetti-inspired details – the perfect mix for a New Year’s Eve wedding!

From Courtney: Since Lisa and Paul’s New Year’s Eve wedding will take place at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, their wedding invitation had to be equally luxurious. Each piece of the invitation is printed on Crane’s Pearl White Lettra stock and features gold foil and custom calligraphy.

To tie in the “festive” part of their wedding, the inner envelope was lined in gold glitter and the entire suite was tied together with a gold glitter belly band and tag featuring the couple’s names, wedding date, and a clock at the stroke of midnight – which was also featured on a custom stamp. Guests also noted if they would be “ringing in the new year together” or “toasting from afar.”

Wedding Stationery Inspiration: Emerald

I probably don’t have to tell you that Pantone has selected emerald as the official color of 2013! I was jumping for joy when I heard this, and I hope you were too, especially if you are engaged! Emerald is such a unique choice for a wedding color and it can lend itself to many a style. Pair it with gold and jewel tones for a moody look or black and white for a modern feel, and that’s only just the beginning. Here are a few day-of stationery ideas to get you inspired for bringing the shade of the year into your big day! — Kelly

Michelle + Martin’s Classic Purple Edge Painted Wedding Invitations

These sophisticated wedding invitations from Courtney Callahan Paper combine modern patterns with pops of color and a classic calligraphy font – all letterpress printed on soft and thick cotton paper.  I love the bold dose of color from the purple envelope liner and edge painting!

From Courtney: Michelle and Marty, a NYC-based couple, have a dynamite sense of style and wanted a fresh, modern wedding invitation suite that also incorporated their wedding colors, slate and plum.  Mixing bold patterns is one of my favorite design techniques, so when a bride tells me she is not afraid of pattern – it’s music to my ears!

Letterpress printed on Crane’s Lettra Pearl White, this oversized square invitation combined quatrefoil and geometric circles in slate with pops of plum on the invitation edging and inner envelope liner.  A flourished calligraphy font adds just a touch of timeless elegance to the overall suite.

Erin + Blake’s Gold Foil and Letterpress Wedding Invitations

The resurgence of metallics – and gold foil in particular – has been one of my favorite design trends over the last couple of years.  I love the subtle way gold foil text is paired with a letterpress blind impression (no ink) pattern in these wedding invitations from Courtney Callahan Paper.  Modern, fresh, and sophisticated all at the same time!

From Courtney:  Erin and Blake are a modern couple with a keen sense of style, and they each had opinions on how they wanted their invitation suite to look.  For the blind impression pattern, we decided to mimic the circles used in the logo of their wedding venue, the Palladium; this element was carried throughout each piece of the suite and the materials used on their wedding day.

Printed on Crane’s Lettra in pearl, the invitation suite was produced using metallic gold foil stamping and a letterpress blind emboss.  The suite included an invitation with hot pink edge painting, along with a reception card and response card with a custom monogram detail.  Inner envelopes were lined in hot pink to match the edge painting on the invitation.
