Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday everyone! We’re still digging out from a TON of snow here in DC. But we’ve done all the snow things – sledded, built snowmen, thrown snowballs – and the girls have loved it! This is Alice’s first real winter and she seems particularly enamored by the snow. She loves carrying little snowballs around with her and uses a little sand scoop to shovel snow, which is so ridiculously cute. I’ll be honest though, I’m looking forward to the snow melting when we get some warmer weather later this weekend! But in the meantime…

…a few links for your weekend!

This week on Oh So Beautiful Paper:

That’s it for me this week! Stay tuned for another mocktail recipe this afternoon! If you missed it, last week’s Winter Fruit Mocktail (with sparkling grapefruit) was seriously delicious. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll see you back here on Monday! xoxo

  1. Wow I’m glad I never wanted to live in NYC or that article would have been SO depressing! I’m definitely at an age where I feel like I HAVE to have certain things and certain amount of space and probably would not be able to uproot and try something completely new.

    • Wait, aren’t you just outside of Boston?? I don’t think the article meant living broke in NYC specifically, but any big city during your young adult years. But it definitely wasn’t my intention to make anyone feel bad!

I never lived in NYC, but I feel like I had a similar experience when I first moved to DC and was working an unpaid internship in a super expensive city and living in a 200 square foot apartment with a mini fridge. But I’m still so glad I did it. Emily’s article made me think a lot about my own decision making process, because it seemed SO much easier to just make a huge life changing decision back then. Like sure! Just pack up your apartment and move to a completely new big city with no money! And yes, now I’m older and I want more space and certain things to feel comfortable, but it also feels harder to just decide to make a change. Now I feel like I’m waiting for some sort of signal or action-forcing event, rather than just making the decision just because it’s something that I want to do. Anyway! Long, rambling answer that probably makes NO sense, but that was the part that resonated with me.
