{happy weekend!}
03/04/2011You know how some weeks are just harder than others? This has been a tough week for me, with a to-do list that feels like it’s getting longer by the minute and a rapidly dwindling energy level. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed, drained, and a little burned out – and on top of all of that, over the last few days I also managed to come down with a bit of a cold. Not a good combination! I’m hoping to recharge a bit this weekend and start fresh next week. But in the meantime…
…a few links for your weekend:
- This might be the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen
- A fabulous baby announcement for a most adorable baby
- Cool geometric necklaces
- I’m loving Shira’s round up of wedding escort card ideas (including most of my own favorites!) from past features in Martha Stewart Weddings…
- …and Rachel’s round up of quirky and creative gift wrap ideas!
- Just. Stunning.
- Lovely invitations for a bridal shower tea
- Have you all heard about the Ladies of Letterpress conference this summer? I’m thrilled to be one of the speakers!
This week on Oh So Beautiful Paper:
- Some truly awesome business cards!
- I’m in love with these classic pink + gray wedding invitations
- My love affair continues with Rob Ryan’s laser cut paper works
- Laid-back invitations for a wedding in South Carolina’s low country…
- …and formal blue and white invitations for a wedding in Puerto Rico
- There’s no danger music.
- Sweet and simple modern calling cards.
- Loving the new 2011 designs from KenzieKate.
- A quick recap of last weekend’s road trip up from Florida
That’s it for me this week! I hope you all have a lovely weekend, and I’ll see you back here on Monday!

No Danger Music
03/03/2011Richele from Richie Designs always make me laugh with her cards – even more so with her latest design. Richele created this particular card with her teenage nephews in mind, but I know a few adults who might benefit from some shark music as well!
Check out Richele’s sense of humor (and the rest of her cards) over at the Richie Designs shop.

My friend Mackenzie from Kenzie Kate Invitations just added two new designs to her wedding invitation collection – and she’s giving us a first look at the new designs! This year, Mackenzie is mixing things up with some fun patterns along with her usual bright pops of color. She also included a description of each new design, so scroll down for the full info!
From Mackenzie: The chevron style is called “Los Angeles” (I name each of my styles after a city). This style is super casual and laid back, perfect for a chic couple looking to entice their guests with a fun invite filled with character. I was inspired by movie poster titling and Old Hollywood, but this style could work equally well on either coast – as long as the celebration is as stylish and fun-filled as the invitations!
The floral style is called “Marietta”, chosen because the town is the site of the Georgia State Fair, which was my inspiration for this design. Seersucker, swiss-dot, picnic baskets laden with fruit, and peach pies were all floating through my head as I was coming up with this one. I wanted something that spoke to the romance and ease of the country in the summer, someplace I think we’d all like to be! Everything from the typography to the patterning is my very definition of “charming.”
Absolutely gorgeous! You can check out the full Kenzie Kate collection right here – thanks Mackenzie!
