As much as I love it when couples take risks with their wedding invitation design, there’s just something about a clean, simple, and timeless wedding invitation that gets me every single time.  So of course I’m loving the latest wedding invitation designs from Lynn at Satsuma Press.  The design with the tiny hearts is my favorite…

You might remember Dinara’s beautiful paper cut artwork from last month – and today Dinara is back, with the invitations for her upcoming baby shower!  Dinara is expecting a baby girl in May, so when it came time for baby shower invitations it was only fitting that Dinara apply her illustration and hand lettering skills to the design.

Dinara worked with Laurie from Lucky Bee Press, who provided 2-color letterpress printing in pink and yellow.  Aren’t they lovely?

I love, love the combination of illustration and letterpress printing.  Colleen from Craft Lovely had the opportunity to print these fantastic letterpress save the dates for her friends Colleen and Paul.  Paul, a talented artist, did the illustration and design work, while (the other) Colleen created the lovely calligraphy on the envelopes.  I’m completely smitten!

From the silhouettes to the other framed objects, the save the date design features memories and tidbits from Paul and Colleen’s relationship.  So sweet!  Check out more details over on Craft Lovely.

Today I’m hanging out in my local courthouse for jury duty, so I’m in need of some extra special inspiration to help pass the time.  I came across these two gorgeous letterpress prints yesterday and just haven’t been able to get them out of my head ever since, so they seemed appropriate for this courthouse-bound day.

I’m totally loving this print from the talented folks at Eight Hour Day – from the beautiful lettering to the inspirational and optimistic message.

I’ve always loved maps, and of course I love to travel, but this letterpress typographic world map from Design Ahoy is beyond amazing.  The blind impression longitude and latitude lines are so subtle and beautiful.  Just stunning.

It always feels like a little treat when I get to feature a wedding invitation from New Zealand, and today is no exception.  Kate from Ruby & Willow created this cheerful yellow and gray wedding invitation with an outline of the Auckland skyline and waterfront.   I’m loving the mixture of floral patterns with the city landmarks!

From Kate: This features local (Auckland) landmarks… the couple wanted to use them as their wedding venue is on the waterfront, but didn’t want to head down the typical photo invitation style.  So I came up with this combination using a sketch of the bridge and incorporating patterns!
