These invitations from Elizabeth and Jenna of Little Bit Heart are all about classic glitz and glamour. From the gold and white color palette to the elegant script font and lace details, this invitation would be perfect for a formal or black tie wedding. Elizabeth and Jenna even incorporated a traditional wax seal on the outer envelopes!
From Elizabeth and Jenna: We created these wedding invitations for our cousin Elizabeth and her fiancé Kevin. Elizabeth and Kevin wanted a classic, elegant set and to bring in lace details. Their set was letterpress printed by Kat and the team at Gilah Press in Baltimore, Maryland on 100% cotton pearl white paper and mounted on metallic gold stock. We had a blind impression of a lace pattern letterpress printed onto each card and used gold ink for the type.
A lace and fabric flower bellyband held the invitation set together. We added a gold metallic inner envelope liner to add a pop to the cream envelope. Elizabeth also fell in love with the idea of a wax seal, so we added a gold seal to the outer envelope. Reply card and mailing labels were custom designed and printed onto gold metallic label stock.
So pretty! Thanks Elizabeth and Jenna!

Graphic designer and illustrator Brian Hurst is getting married later this summer (congrats Brian!), and created this lovely save the date that combines both modern and vintage-inspired elements along with some fun aviation-inspired details. Brian chose a color palette of green and gray with a touch of black – so awesome!
The save the date folds out to a total length of 12 x 5 inches, or 5 x 7 inches when folded. Brian even had a custom 2″ rubber stamp made with their names and wedding date to use on the bright green envelopes.
Fantastic work Brian! I can’t wait to see the invitations! For more from Brian, you can check out his portfolio here along with his blog, The Quiet Society (love that name).

Woodland Papercuts Wedding Invitations
03/29/2011I’m a long-time fan of the beautiful art of papercutting, from greeting cards to artwork to ketubahs and marriage certificates. So when artist Naomi Shiek sent over her collection of stunning woodland papercut wedding invitations, well, let’s just say it was love at first sight. Naomi draws her inspiration from nature, with each lovely design focuses on a specific botanical theme.
From Naomi: I am a huge fan of tactile stationery, I think there’s nothing more beautiful than feeling the images as well as seeing them. My inspiration is always nature and folklore. I enjoy the process of papercutting and the imagery is influenced by the slow reveal of the silhouette during the cutting process. With my invitations & reply cards I wanted to create nature scenes with an air of romance and mystique about them and I wanted the handmade craft to show through. There are seven pre-made designs in the collection: Wings, Dandelion, Peonies In Bloom, Big Flower, Deer Beloved, Fern, and Bamboo. Each design includes an invitation and reply card.

Paper Artwork: Optimism + Love
03/29/2011I’m always on the hunt for beautiful prints and artwork – and I’m particularly partial to anything with an optimistic or happy sentiment. These are a couple of recent prints that have caught my eye…
“Everything’s Alright Forever” by Enormous Champion (in gold foil on navy and silver foil on brown)
“If you knew how much I love you, you’d faint” by Love Maki (in french and english)
Now I only need to choose my favorite color and language combinations!
