The second set of real wedding invitations today come to us from Sarah at Foglio Press. Sarah recently created a beautiful letterpress wedding invitation suite for an upcoming wedding near Half Moon Bay, California. Sarah went with a modern color palette and clean overall design to complement the beautiful wedding venue.
From Sarah: Lena’s wedding will be taking place at the beautiful Chateau La Joye near Half Moon Bay, California. We were looking to create a suite that would incorporate a blend of clean and simple design elements with whimsical details and gorgeous cotton paper.
We used Crane Lettra in flourescent white, letterpress printed in a fresh and modern color palette of pool blue and warm gray inks. From there we chose a combination of typefaces and let them come together with a simple and beautiful border.
The reply postcard and custom map were bundled together with the invitation and tied with citrus-toned twine for a pop of color. Another shot of cheery color came from the Papaya envelope liners peeking out from sleek gray euro-flap envelopes.
For the ceremony programs, we decided to go even more whimsical. Instead of a booklet, we chose a long and skinny accordion format that were fun for guests to open and read but folded nicely into a sweet 4.25″ x 5.5″ package.
Once again we mixed fun typography with lots of swoops and swirls to draw the eye down each portion of the program. On the back, we printed the lyrics to Stevie Wonder’s “You Are The Sunshine Of My Life” so that guests would be able to participate in a recessional singalong.
