Today’s real invitations have one of my favorite themes ever – coffee and books! Jeshurun took on the task of designing her own wedding invitations and Save the Dates while finishing up her Master’s thesis in graphic design at RISD and trying to plan the rest of her wedding. Once Jeshurun and Ryan settled on a general theme the rest of the design came together organically, including a beautiful letterpress bookmark Save the Date!
From Jeshurun: As a graphic designer, there is some pressure to make your wedding invitations a slice of design perfection. My husband Ryan manages a coffee shop, and we met in a coffee shop, so it seemed natural to incorporate that element as a design detail. Coffee plants are actually quite beautiful.
I recycled burlap coffee bags from his work by cutting them into small rectangles and attaching some homemade buttons of my own design to be used at the place settings.
I letterpress printed my Save the Dates at RISD and attached gorgeous hand-dyed silk ribbon (from Hanah Silk Ribbon) to create the bookmarks.
To continue the book theme, I stacked books I had at home into the shape of a wedding cake, then photographed and traced them in Illustrator to create the invitations. My friend Elana at Spoon & Sailor handled the printing of the invitations since I wanted a perfect color-match and some additional letterpress expertise.
A custom rubber stamp and scalloped note cards from Paper Source made the RSVP cards a breeze. The reception dinner menu was simply ink-jet printed at home.
Instead of a guest book, I created a wishing tree to which guests could attach notes.

i just came across this and realized i think i know this girl… afterall, there are not too many jeshuruns out there. and our mutual friend beth was describing these invitations to me, and this is what she described. so glad i got to see them here, because i remember being intrigued when i heard about them!

I love these! I went to school with both Jeshurun and Elana (Spoon & Sailor) and they are both very talented and creative ladies. Beautiful set, and I love, love, love the wishing tree idea. Congrats on everything Jeshurun.
OMG I love those. My boyfriend loves reading and tea. We both do actually. They are so lovely!
