Simple + Whimsical Wedding Invitations

How cute are these illustrated and hand lettered wedding invitations?  The invitations were created by designer Andrea Berretta (aka Pepper) for the wedding of one of Andrea’s childhood friends later this year.  Simple yet whimsical – I particularly love the banner details:

Colorful Edge Painting

I absolutely adore the technique of edge painting – it’s such a wonderful way to add a subtle pop of color and personality to a business card or wedding invitation.

Adrienne from Dingbat Press sent me a note to let me know that she’s now providing edge painting for invitations and business cards, and – just for Oh So Beautiful Paper readers – she’s offering FREE edge painting on orders placed in the month of September!  Just make sure to mention Oh So Beautiful Paper when you contact Dingbat Press to request an estimate!

Tiger Theme Baby Shower Invitations

With quirky font choices and a bold color palette, these tiger-themed baby shower invitations are seriously cool.  Designed by Jason Gomez from Turnstyle Studio for his brother and sister-in-law, Jason drew inspiration from the nursery theme while also keeping in mind that both men and women would attend the baby shower (and taking it easy on the cuteness factor).  The result?  Crisp, modern, and totally fabulous!

From Jason: This was an a unique baby shower invitation as it was purely inspired by the baby’s nursery, which was itself designed and put together by my brother (who is also a graphic designer).

A lot of the character, color, and playfulness from the invitation was pulled from the tiger themed nursery that was created for the baby.

“Why the tiger?” you may wonder?  Well, the baby is going to be born during the year of the Tiger!

Since the baby shower was going to be a co-ed event, I wanted to keep a good balance of cuteness while also maintaining somewhat of a masculine feel to the invitation.

The invitation came together nicely, infusing a simple palette , a pop of color, and playful type selections.  It really conveyed the theme and overall aesthetic my brother Johann and his wife Jamee have set for the baby’s room.

Thanks so much Jason!  And a big congratulations to Johann and Jamee on the new baby!

Etsy Guest Curator

A couple of weeks ago, the good folks over at Etsy asked me if I would stop by the Storque as a guest curator.  We decided to focus on paper artwork, and I had a fantastic time picking out a selection of prints from some of my favorite artists!

Check out the full selection right here!

Kraft Paper Business Cards

I’m loving pops of bright colors lately – and these kraft paper business cards from one plus one design are just so much fun.  The logo is printed in a series of bright and fluorescent colors on French Paper muscletone kraft for a modern feel with a bit of a punch:
