Sarah + Jeff’s Modern Floral Pink and Yellow Wedding Invitations

04/13/2010

Adrienne from Dingbat Press sent over these bright fuschia and yellow wedding invitations that she designed and printed for a recent client.  In addition to the final invitations, Adrienne was kind enough to send over some proofs from the design process so that we could see how the invitation evolved.

From Adrienne: Sarah came to me wanting a letterpress wedding suite that was bright and modern. She was going for a cirque du soleil theme and wanted something fun and fluid.  Her inspiration for the invitations came from The Beatles Cirque du Soleil show, LOVE, in Las Vegas.

These were Adrienne’s initial mock-ups:

And this was the final design proof:

Sarah wanted to explore some 60s mod themes, bright colors and floral silhouettes. Curry and fuchsia were her colors of choice but she wanted to initially explore oranges and pinks as well.

In the end, we combined two proofs from previous design versions to create the final printed piece with the impression and reverse print band on the bottom of the invite creating a faux emboss.

Gorgeous!  I love, love, love the faux emboss at the bottom of the invitation — such a wonderful effect that I’m sure is even more beautiful in person!  I also love the subtle yellow-on-yellow floral detail in the corner of the envelope, which contrasts so nicely against the bright pops of fuschia.  Thanks so much Adrienne!
