Pink + Gray Silhouette Invitations
04/30/2010I really don’t think I’ll ever lose my love for silhouettes — particularly not when they’re included in a wedding invitation as lovely as this one from seesaw:
And the color palette of white, blush pink, cream, and gray? Heavenly.

I love the inspiration behind today’s real wedding invitations – the Beatles! Lehua and Ignacio took their original inspiration source and created a colorful DIY invitation suite that incorporates vintage fabrics and ribbon (I’m loving those stripes!) and totally befits their upcoming ranch wedding in southern California:
From Lehua: The theme of our wedding is “all you need is love”. We are avid Beatles fans and this theme worked perfectly for us. We will be getting married in July on a ranch right outside of Los Angeles, so we combined western influences with our Beatles inspiration for our wedding theme.

We initially started with the muslin bags. The design was something that Ignacio & I worked on together. We had many sleepless nights trying to get something that we both liked. In the end, we both loved the final product.
The muslin bag design was gocco’d. Almost everything for the wedding is a DIY or handmade. The bags contain a box of girl scout cookies for each guest. We purchased 125 boxes of cookies, which allowed us to make a sizable donation to our local Girl Scouts troop and fully paid for two girl to attend summer camp. It was a win/win for everyone!
The main invitation and RSVP card were from Wedding Paper Divas. The boxes were purchased from Paper Source. I knew from the beginning that I did not want a “stick in the envelope and mail” type of invite and I played around with some unique ideas. I finally settled on the box and worked to make it my own. We used the same print that we deisgned for the muslin bags and incorporated that into the invites.
The colors are actually our favorite basketball teams. The boy likes the Lakers and I am a die hard Spurs fan. These colors will be used throughout the wedding as well. We assembled all the invitations ourselves — which was a lot to take on and ended up taking way longer than we thought. The doilies, lace and ribbon were actually all purchased from thrift stores and the labels were printed at our home.
Lehua has written more about the invitation DIY and assembly process, which you can check out over on her blog right here. Thanks so much Lehua!

Black + White San Francisco Save the Dates
04/29/2010As much as I love color, I just don’t think you can ever go wrong with classic black and white. I love this modern San Francisco Save the Date from Richie Design:
In the background you can also see the new abstract art postage stamps — I love the way they pop against the black envelope!
