Rachel of Design Lovely recently sent me pictures of her lovely invitations for her upcoming wedding in Hawaii (lucky girl!). Rachel appears to have been inspired by her natural surroundings, choosing a green color palette and using natural materials throughout the invitations. First up, let’s get the background from Rachel about the design inspiration for her invitations.

The green crinkly paper (wrap) is from Thailand and it is double sided which worked beautifully for the type of fold that I wanted. I received the paper in large sheets so I cut and folded each one by hand. I created a small pocket for the RSVP card which is actually a postcard so there is no envelope. This saves paper and keeps it really clean looking.
I wrapped the invitation with hemp cord and stuck them in the custom envelopes which was done in calligraphy by my mother. I wanted to put some handmade love into these and I am really happy with the result.
